How Do You Improve Your Conversion Rates?
Improving your conversion rates with your local Vancouver Business Coach Rob Carol
When asked what their conversion rates are, most business owners say between 60-70%. In most cases, this number is significantly lower.
Surprisingly, the true answer is around 30% on average. That means that only 3 out of 10 new leads will purchase from you. Now, when you consider the cost associated with acquiring a new lead – 3 out of 10 is far too low.
I have good news for you! As a business coach, I have strategies that will help you improve your conversion rates. In this blog post, I will be highlighting two strategies that you can begin utilizing on your own, today.
Strategies to Improve Your Conversion Rates
Flow Chart your Sales Process
Now, you may be thinking, ‘What sales process?” Whether you realize it or not, you do have a sales process in place. For some of you, it may be woeful and for others, it may be acceptable. However, for most of you, it is most likely not consistent every time.
By flow charting your sales process, you will be able to clearly see what each step is and which step(s) may need to be improved. Having a step-by-step process in place will bring about a critical aspect of consistency in your sales.
The second part of the equation is the sales scripts. These scripts are useful for each step of the sales process. It’s one thing to have a step-by-step sales process; it’s quite another to know what to say at each step every time an inquiry is made.
The simplest way to do this is to write down what you say when you have a good sales experience and then work on improving this over time. Or if you have several sales people on your team, work out what your best sales person does and says and document that.
- during the initial phone call
- the face to face inquiry
- any other contact you may have in the sales process
- the thank you letter or card after the sale
By flow charting your sales process and writing sales scripts for every step of the process, you will able to bring about greater consistency. This will help you and your sales team develop confidence and ultimately, it will help you increase your sales conversion rates. Just make sure you keep it simple!
